この捏造を行った Fred Crisman は J.F.K. 暗殺事件でも登場している。この捏造が元で政府職員が死亡し起訴されかけた。その起訴をれるために諜報機関と司法取引をした可能性がある。それにより、後に組織された CIA の手駒となり、J.F.K. 暗殺に加担したと。
