We have a very special guest tonight, and it's always exciting when somebody with a credentialed academic and professional education such as Joseph Birx has, when a medical doctor comes forward and has a deep interest in the subject that we have here. And it tends to lend credibility when a scientist of this type comes forward and says, hey, I'm interested in this. (0:01:52)
This is important. And there are quite a few professionals in the medical field today who are attending and becoming deep researchers in this subject. Well, it's nice to be able to present Joseph Birx tonight. And let me read this bio for you so that you know where he's coming from and who he is. And he's a local boy, which is nice to have another professional that's right here where we can get him within reaching distance. (0:02:28)
Dr. Joseph Birx is a board-certified internist living in Southern California. He is a partner in a medical group serving a large health maintenance organization and works in the emergency room. Birx received his M.D. degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He was born in New York City in 1949. Dr. Birx has been a lifelong activist in the peace and social justice movements. During the Vietnam War, he organized students in anti-war protest activities. (0:02:59)
And in 1979, he founded the Los Angeles Committee on Occupational Safety and Health, a coalition of medical and legal professionals assisting the labor movements to make the American workplace safer. Joe, you need to be across town right now helping us all out again. During the 1980s, as the nuclear arms race intensified, he and thousands of other medical doctors joined Physicians for Social Responsibility, PSR, an organization established to educate the people and government leaders about the medical consequences of nuclear war. Serving in PSR's Los Angeles chapter, he co-produced a weekly radio talk show entitled Prescription for Survival, heard on listener-supported KPFK FM. In May of 1992, he met Dr. Stephen Greer, a fellow emergency room physician. Dr. Birx was named the Los Angeles Workgroup Coordinator for the CE5 initiative, the Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind initiative. He speaks both Spanish and Russian. Dr. Birx currently is no longer part of the CCETI leadership, but he continues working for universal peace. (0:04:21)

This is an important occasion for me because I joined MUFON about eight years ago, and this is my first opportunity to be the keynote speaker addressing this group, so I really have been looking forward to this for many years. I'm going to start off with an introduction. For those social historians who have read the manifesto, I give my apologies. (0:05:15)
A phantom has appeared in the skies of Earth. It is a specter of unidentified flying objects. On the slopes of volcanoes in Mexico, over U.S. ballistic missile bases, in the vicinity of large cities and on remote locales, unearthly craft using propulsion systems that appear to be not of this Earth are presenting themselves to millions of witnesses. Who are these visitors? Are they friends? Are they foes? No one has a definitive answer to the many questions raised by UFO sightings. (0:06:03)
A growing number of people find the extraterrestrial hypothesis as the most reasonable explanation for what is happening. Many honest skeptics and even self-styled debunkers, however, would have us believe that many, if not most, or even all of these unexplained craft that seem to defy the laws of physics as we know them are really top-secret U.S. military craft. Considering the skeptics' pronouncements, however, the UFO phenomena is quite robust. Despite their rather prosaic explanations, these unearthly craft continue to be seen by millions, and they defy the explanations of debunkers. From 1992 until 1998, I was closely associated with the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence founded by Dr. Stephen Greer. While participating in that group, I had a limited, I had a number of limited interactive experiences with what appeared to be extraterrestrial spacecraft. Tonight, I'll be sharing with you some of the details of those personal encounters, as well as information about groups of contactees that I've dubbed the contact underground. (0:07:29)
Contactees being those individuals, UFO experiencers, who feel they have positive interactions with non-human intelligence of a presumed extraterrestrial nature, and who have formed networks of these experiencers to promote communication, exchange, peace, and who may, in their relationship with non-human intelligence, have important keys which will help this planet evolve during the next millennium. But first of all, I'd like to show you some pictures, because it's worth a thousand words. (0:08:03)
And I'll be reporting on CICETI organization, as well as Mission Rama, founded by Peruvian contactees in 1974. I'll try to compare and contrast some of the important features of these groups, and also mention one of many, which probably is a multitude of independent networks of contactees. So with that as a kind of introduction, let's go to the video, the first portion from the sightings program. (0:08:37)
Hopefully, not too many of you have seen them all. So let's go to the video now. It runs about five minutes. Recently, sightings of UFOs have been divided into three categories. A close encounter of the first kind, or CE1 for short, describes sightings closer than 500 feet. A CE2 includes physical evidence left behind. And the third kind, or CE3, describes face-to-face encounters. A few years ago, ufologists added CE4 to describe reported alien abductions of humans. (0:09:08)
And now there's a new category, close encounters of the fifth kind, CE5, in which humans and aliens actively communicate with each other through light and sound. The Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Life, or CICETI, is pioneering the study of CE5s. Dr. Steven Greer is CICETI's director. A close encounter of the fifth kind is a term that we coined to describe humans deliberately attempting to vector a spacecraft into an area with the intention of interacting with it. (0:09:50)
Most encounters in all the other categories are passive. In CE5, we take the initiative to communicate in some fashion, whether it be with sound or light or thought, to try and get a response. Rather than just being passive observers, we want to interact. (0:10:01)
And some of these are sometimes quite serendipitous. For example, an individual might be out at night driving along a highway and see an extraterrestrial spacecraft or UFO, and will take the initiative to get a flashlight and begin to signal to them. And many times it will come over and signal back. The purpose of our work is for peaceful communication, mutual respect. We absolutely assume non-hostility on the part of any visitors until it's proven to us beyond the shadow of a doubt. (0:10:39)
In their field research, CICETI has developed a specific set of protocols for initiating thoughts with alien spacecraft. Their goal is a successful CE5. The different methods of initiating a CE5 include using sound, which at this point we're using anomalous sound that were recorded in five crop circles in England. We use light. When we go out in the field, we go with half a million candle power halogen lights that are portable. (0:11:05)
The lights are used for signaling to the UFO, either in a series of flashes or by drawing shapes in the sky, usually a large triangle or a large circle. It's meant to encourage the UFO to participate and to interact with the project. We also use thought in the form of meditative thought or thought projection. We call it coherent thought sequencing. So we are using these what we call contact trilogies in a protocol fashion with the express intention of a boarding party, a C-SETI trained boarding party going on board and having meetings with these visitors. In the spring of 1992, Dr. Greer took a C-SETI group to one UFO hotspot, Gulf Breeze, Florida. This computer simulation is based on C-SETI's own footage supposedly showing communication with a UFO. We began signaling to them with these lights and they would signal back so that we would flash to them two flashes in awe and they would flash back two times in awe. (0:12:12)
They disappeared briefly and during that time period we were making an equilateral triangle in the sky with these high powered lights. At that point, shortly after we did that, they reappeared in a perfect equilateral triangle. Over 40 people witnessed a definite close encounter of the fifth kind between the C-SETI group and these UFOs. With their apparent success at Gulf Breeze, C-SETI expanded their field of research to include an investigation in Great Britain. They combined forces with British researchers who were interested in investigating if alien spacecraft could be responsible for England's famous crop circles. (0:12:53)
We wanted to try and prove once and for all if a link really did exist between the UFO phenomenon and the crop circle phenomenon. We picked the Wilshire area because the majority of the crop circle formations in England are forming in that particular county. The site there is very close to Stonehenge. It's a very prolific area for aerial phenomena and for the grime patterns. (0:13:14)
During our protocol that evening of July 23rd, we focused on our thought process for this particular formation for 20 minutes. (0:13:20)
We all held in our minds the thought of a triangle with a circle at each point of the triangle. And we were of course very astonished to find that the next day, precisely that shape appeared in a field. We walked out onto the end of this long land formation and as we got to the very end, there glistening in the sun below us was the perfect formation identical to what we had envisioned. (0:13:52)
We clearly do have an intelligence involved, which is the ability to read it, the grime patterns of the human psyche. It seems very evident to us that this is all about communication. They, whoever they are, are communicating to us with these cyphers in the field. And in our CT protocol, we've communicated with them and they've answered back. (0:14:17)
When we saw the existence of this formation, we considered that to be a very high level CE5. Exhilarated by their success, the CSETI team mounted another investigation nearby at Alton Barnes. Bad weather forced most of the team to abandon the overnight surveillance. But Dr. Greer and three others persevered. At approximately 12.20am, Chris Mansell was banging on my window and I opened the door and I said, what is wrong? (0:14:43)
And he said, there is a spaceship coming right to the bloody field. It must have been 80 to 100 feet across. Very large. And at this point, we were able to extricate one of these high powered lights and we began to signal to it. So I took the light and I hit it twice with this very high powered light, two flashes and paused. (0:15:06)
To my ultimate surprise, it actually flashed back. And it flashed back again. It's just amazing. This event certainly ranks as one of the most significant human initiated encounters in history and I think it speaks to the possibilities which await us in the future. One such possibility is accurately predicting when and where a CE5 will occur. Roy Dutton is a British aerospace engineer who has amassed records on thousands of reported UFO sightings. (0:15:40)
Given the specific location, Dutton believes he can predict the date and time of the area's next sighting. I can very very quickly produce a predictions graph for any place on Earth. Roy Dutton did predict the events that occurred at Halton Barnes. I had just met him that day, the day of the 26th, and he had, for that part of England, had stated that there would be high likelihood of sightings at around 10.30, which is when we did have the first sightings, and then again at 12.30. The sightings which occurred that night were congruent with his predictions. (0:16:12)
We, in our CCETI work, have communicated to them and they've answered, what are the boundaries of this? This is a new chapter in interspecies communication. The CCETI members believe that the increasing number of UFO sightings reported over the past 40 years are more than coincidence. They believe a growing number of sightings are part of an extraterrestrial master plan to prepare us, they say, for formal contact in the near future. (0:16:45)

Can we cut that in time? Nobody really knows why he's extraterrestrial. Very good. So that gives you a visual presentation of the CCETI of the early years. You might ask, how does a mild-mannered physician with two dogs, a piece of overpriced real estate on the west side, and a mortgage he's struggling to pay, a wife and two kids, get involved with UFOs? So part of this presentation will be a personal journey. (0:17:25)
Back in 91, I decided to build a studio for my wife on top of our existing house. And we got an architect who had this wonderful plan. Unfortunately, halfway through the construction, she left town and no one could read her plans. So I was desperate. I was working two jobs to pay for the addition. And I remember the advice from my medical school days, and there's the medical professor who is rounding and he says, everybody needs a hobby. And this professor was an avid golfer. (0:18:04)
Well, I did not care about golfing, worth it, darn. But I went to the library in desperation because I needed something to distract me from my two jobs. The cat, the dog, and the bird were all screaming because the water was pouring in through the roof and there was no roof. I was living in a planetarium. (0:18:25)
So I said, give me something about, I don't know, UFOs. That was my first mistake. I started to read and week after week, month after month, the shelves in my bookshelf became fuller. I became fascinated. And about a year later, I built up enough courage to attend my first UFO meeting. And that was my second mistake. I went to UFO Expo West. This was just a few days in May of 1992, just a few days after the terrible LA riots. You could still smell the aroma of burnt out buildings in the air. (0:19:02)
And I went to the meeting and there on the stage was a tall, bearded emergency room physician, a colleague of sorts, who got up there and gave the presentation that you just heard Dr. Greer give. Well, several thoughts went through my mind. Number one, that this is an incredible hoax, that the video evidence is perhaps some staged event. Maybe Dr. Greer knows people in the motion picture industry. (0:19:31)
So he had these very impressive videos from Gulf Breeze Encounter. Or I thought perhaps Dr. Greer is carrying out a disinformation project with the intelligence services. Or the third possibility was that he was telling the truth, as he saw it. And I have to admit that I chose to believe that this was the truth. And so I joined CCETI organization. (0:19:55)
I was trained in the rudimentary side techniques that form the contact protocols, meditation, thought projection. I was very pleased with the fact that during my first outing at West Palm Beach with Dr. Greer and several others, I saw my first UFO. At the end of our training session, a blue-green light moving about 100 miles an hour, totally silent, came out over the water and there was a very low cloud cover, maybe 200 feet up. (0:20:28)
It streaked across. It was not a tracer from a bullet. It was not a helicopter. It was my first UFO. Blue-green color, I like that. So I was enthusiastic. (0:20:35)
As you know from my participation in the peace and social justice movements, I'm a die-hard romantic idealist who will continue in these perhaps lost causes, but is hoping that a good outcome can come about. So I organized my team of researchers here. I have to say that the second night out, we had an incredible encounter. It wasn't structured craft. It wasn't something you'd see from close encounters of the third kind. (0:21:11)
But it was an anomalous nocturnal light that flashed at our team from a distance on a ridge line where no powerful lights should have been. And prior to that, silent lightning flashes illuminated the entire landscape in bursts that lasted only moments but turned the Chatsworth research site where we had from night into day. It was truly anomalous. It was an evening full of anomalous phenomena. (0:21:39)
As we continued our research, we had exciting episodes, encounters with black helicopters at the Rocky Peak State Park. One of my colleagues, also in the same medical group I'll call Dr. Daniel, went up with us to Rocky Peak State Park to check out a potential research site. He made the mistake of speaking into his cell phone. (0:22:08)
In those days, it was quite an unusual thing, even for doctors to have cell phones. In 1992, he said, oh, I'm here at Rocky Peak State Park. I'm overlooking the Department of Energy site, which is where they tested the engines for the space shuttle. And we're doing C-SETI protocols to vector in spacecraft. Well, if it's true that the National Security Agency has continuous monitoring of the airways, picking out key words like vectoring in spacecraft or C-SETI or Department of Energy site, or maybe security considerations, Rocky Peak State Park, which is overlooking that high security facility, alarms may have gone off because about 45 minutes later, we heard in the distance, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, rumble. My colleague, Dr. Daniel, who's a private pilot, said, sounds like propellers. Sounds like maybe it's transport. I said, no, those are choppers. And sure enough, within a few moments, two large Black Hawk helicopters flying what was called silent because they had no lights on except two tiny anti-collision lights flying together, were following the trail that we came up to the Rocky Peak location, and then started to hover and fly around the place in the rocks where we had silently carried out the protocols of the C-SETI group. And I hypothesized they must have been looking at the heat tracings of our bodies because they hovered right where we had lay on the rocks for about 45 minutes. And then they proceeded straight at us, flying right overhead and then flying back, and they must have woken up the entire Simi Valley. Dr. Daniel asked his patients who lived in the Simi Valley the next week, is it true that you have routine overflights of large transport helicopters? Dr. Daniel thought that might be a so-called routine training mission. (0:24:20)
And the responders, his patients, said, absolutely not. We know what happened that night. They woke up the entire town. And one MUFON research investigator who heard them coming across the Los Angeles Basin before they hit the Simi Valley site where we were, thought that there was a sky quake going on. These Black Hawks were flying right at treetops, which is a violation of the FAA guidelines. (0:24:41)
And he thought, this one investigator, that they were on some kind of anti-terrorist mission. Well, our mission for peace and cooperation with all extraterrestrial visitors, I don't think would qualify as a terrorist action. But in any case, we were checked out. And I asked Dr. Daniel in the future not to call home his wife on the cell phone and announce our activities in advance. (0:25:01)
So this gives you a flair of some of the exciting experiences I had. 1992 to 1993 was an eye-opener for me. I met many contactees. Amazingly enough, in the medical center where I worked. And six of the original 14 members of the CCETI contact team that I was on were in my medical center. Which is a strange coincidence, to say the least. (0:25:29)
One contactee, who I should call Sasha, he came from Russia and where he claimed to have a number of close encounters in a small Belarus town where he grew up. And he claimed that in a dream, before he emigrated to the United States in 1991, in a dream, 1990 I should say, he saw a tall bearded doctor who would be working with him on this UFO situation. (0:26:00)
And when he saw me in the emergency room where he worked as an EKG tech, he recalled the dream and he knew that this experience he was having was forecasted by the dream. This young man was incredibly disciplined. (0:26:14)
For the first year and a half of our CCETI operations, although he talked to me about what I thought of UFOs, he never revealed his experience as a contactee. Until a year into our project, he then joined our contact team. And on November 11th, actually November 10th, the night of the 10th to the 11th, Sasha and I went out on a research investigation. (0:26:43)
His plan followed a lucid dream, or I should say maybe a waking dream. During deep meditation, he had a visualization of us going to the research site at some future point. He knew from the American flags flying that this was an American holiday. And during this visualization, as if he were flying, he went to the research site, which was located at that point in Joshua Tree National Monument, now a national park. (0:27:19)
And he notified me as a team leader, and I tried to put together a team. Unfortunately, it was the night of the first storm of that rainy season, and it was very difficult to get a team together. I'm from New York City, as you might know from my accent. Southern Californians are notorious to think the world is coming to an end when it drops below 40 degrees. (0:27:42)
Similarly, heavy rain has the same effect, and we were not able to get a quorum. Seaside protocols called for a minimum of three researchers. But Sasha had in advance told me that this was not going to be a protocol night. This was personal. And as we drove to the research site, which was dotted by the wrecks of cars which had crashed on the highways. Remember, first rain of the sea, first storm. (0:28:09)
All the cars are going 60 miles an hour, bumper to bumper, as they always are in L.A. And they try to stop. Unfortunately, the grime and oil makes the surface mixed with water incredibly slick. And so there was a series of, shall we say, crashes that occurred, which slowed our progress to the research site. Nevertheless, we got there, and Sasha and I were jubilant. (0:28:37)
It took us five and a half hours to do what usually takes three. And as we were going up to the research site, we had our first sighting, even before we got to our jumping-off point, which was located near the Jumbo Rocks campgrounds. And two golden globes, sharp edges, flew by silently. We signaled at them with our lanterns, but they continued. (0:29:03)
We then drove to our site and parked the cars. These are backboards, which are wilderness parking lots where people going to the back country can leave their vehicles and then hike into the hinterlands. I was not terribly comfortable hiking during a rainstorm, because our trail into the hinterlands was a dry riverbed, and under storm conditions could be turned into sort of a Joshua Tree version of raging waters. And we could suffer a flash flood. Nevertheless, although all around us was storm, in this quiet valley, the Queen Valley, with Queen Mountain, there was no rain. It was dry. It was comfortable. (0:29:42)
All around us, the storm raged, but in this valley, it was dry, and we marched off to our research site. But before we started hiking, again, golden globes appeared and flew by. Sharp edges, amber color, no sound and no wing lights, truly anomalous objects, UFOs. Well, we sat there on the desert sand. We practiced some protocols, but Sasha says, no, this is personal. (0:30:14)
We just got more and more sleepy and started to yawn, as some of you are doing now. Hopefully, I'm not putting you to sleep. And I finally had to crash. I was doing a lot of overnights, and I lay down in the tent. Sasha said, Joe, get up. I says, please, Sasha, I'm working very hard. (0:30:30)
It's three o'clock in the morning. I'm going to sleep. He says, Joe, if you don't come out, you'll be sorry. So, I stuck my head out of the tent, still covered with a sleeping bag. Remember, it's November, and it was getting cold there, down into the 40s. And what I saw, I'd never seen before. It was a jumper. It was a UFO, a bright light that was wildly zigzagging, careening across the sky as it flickered brilliantly and rapidly. (0:31:00)
I'd heard and read descriptions about jumpers. This was the first jumper I'd seen. Needless to say, I was airborne, jumping out of my sleeping bag and out of the tent, landed one foot in a boot, and the other spun around. And for the next hour and 45 minutes, we had a very cordial, playful interaction with not one, but two anomalous nocturnal lights, one which, through binoculars, had superstructure, appeared as a half moon or a disk. And we did everything in the world to fulfill the Seasteady dream of having a landing and a boarding. It didn't happen that night, although they must have been putting out some kind of UV light, because although there was almost no wind in this valley, we did get sunburned. And the side of our faces closest to the craft were bright red compared to a less bright hue on the other side. (0:31:53)
So these babies that appeared to be two to five miles away were putting out a lot of UV light, I suspect. And one of them, which appeared as a disk, sort of bounced, still helter-skelter moving in a kind of zigzag way, moved across the valley floor towards us. At one point, I got very romantic. I remembered my youth peace activist days, and I figured I'd sing a song. (0:32:19)
Maybe that would bring them to their knees or at least get them to come closer. So I took the United Nations hymn, but I changed the words a little bit because we weren't dealing with the United Nations. We were putting forward a program of interplanetary solidarity. So I changed the words. I said, as sure as the sun meets the morning and rivers come down to the sea, a new age for mankind is dawning. (0:32:45)
Our children shall live proud and free. And then instead of saying United Nations, I said United Planets, a little change there, are in march with flags unfurled. I wasn't sure if planets had flags, but I put that in. Together work for lasting peace, a free new world. Well, they must have had a sense of humor, those UFO guys, because as soon as I finished, this was my best singing voice, the last stanza, they turned off their lights. (0:33:04)
I mean, I was outraged. I mean, what are they doing? You know, I know many prominent physicians. (0:33:11)
I was an actor. And they turned on their lights and we interacted again for another 45 minutes. We had almost forgot, we were so excited, we had forgotten we had cameras. So after about 45 minutes, we said, let's turn the cameras on. Well, inevitably this led to a debate in the contactee circles because you have the nuts and bolts, UFOlogists who need to have documented hard evidence and video footage is important. (0:33:47)
And then you have this sort of new age spiritual kind of touchy-feely, oh no, we have to send messages telepathically and if we take out the cameras, they might be offended, trying to prove they exist when they know they exist, we know exist, no cameras. So Sasha and I went through that sort of routine of arguing back and forth, cameras, no cameras. (0:34:08)
So finally we turned on the camera and guess what? They winked out. Well, another outrage. I mean, how could they do this to us? We had driven so far, there was a storm. So Sasha sort of walked towards them and very humbly started speaking with his Russian accent, you know, we are doing this for peace, this is not to sell pictures to National Geographic or National Enquirer. Could you very please turn on your lights again? This is for friendship. We just show these pictures to our friends. (0:34:38)
Well they must have had a sense of humor or maybe they spoke English with a Russian accent. In any case, they turned on their lights and we partied on for another half an hour or so. In a little while I'll show you some of the footage of that encounter. It doesn't look like much. (0:34:59)
It's a flickering light, rapidly going on and off. It was careening through the sky but we lacked the technical skills to put one of us in the foreground so you can see the object jumping back and forth. Since then, I've learned how to video UFOs, although I've never had an encounter quite as strange as that. And then at the end, the sun was coming up. The Marine base is 29 Palms. It's just about 25 miles away. (0:35:20)
I was eager to get more footage but I saw Sasha do something I'd never seen before. And the sun was coming up and he basically went again and spoke with him in his Russian accents. He said, you are near Marine base. He's not safe. Gunships can fly. There are fighter bombers that during a subsequent close encounter in 96 had flown by a tree top level or research site. (0:35:56)
That's another story. In any case, Sasha dismissed them. He said, it's time for you to go. And I said, wait, wait, I'm trying to get more footage. And he said, no, time for them to go now. And the lights went out for the final time. I'd never seen anything like that. He gave me a lesson in interplanetary solidarity that I carry with me to this day. (0:36:20)
Now, this is the story as it was for some five years. I told this a number of times. How many people out there have heard me tell this story before? One, two, just a handful. Okay. What I did not say, however, is that while we were playing with the UFOs, at one point Sasha grabbed his leg in pain and said, oh, why did you do that? Why did you kick me down in the groin? And he grabbed his leg. (0:36:46)
Now, remember, we're dressed in winter survival gear. You know, polypropylene undergarments, woolen pants on top. Then we had ski suits with polyester insulation. Our boots were taped to keep the wind out. We looked like sort of bears out there, or maybe snowmen, although it wasn't snowing yet. He grabbed his leg, right leg, in pain, but we were so excited about the prospect of a possible landing and boarding, we ignored that. (0:37:22)
And when I got home with Sasha that night, the next morning I should say, he showed me what was an echemosis, a big black and blue section of his thigh anterior. We took a picture of it and we said nothing more about it except to each other for a few months, when Sasha kept complaining about the pain in his leg. (0:37:48)
And he says, Joe, I think there's something in there. I said, let's get an x-ray. He's a member of our hospital staff. And so we took an x-ray and there was a foreign body about one centimeter below the skin line in the fat portion of the anterior thigh. It shows up in two views. (0:38:11)
So we had a possible alien implant that I was presumably witness to the implantation. I can tell you there was no hole in his jacket or in his ski pants or in the wool or in the polypropylene or polyester. It manifested in the leg without any apparent mechanism of entering there. It's a challenging prospect. How could they do that? If you've heard of hyperspace and the notion that extraterrestrials or non-human intelligence of a presumed extraterrestrial nature has access to not three dimensions plus a fourth of time, but 10 dimensions with one of time to make 11 dimensions. If hyperdimensional space exists and presumably advanced civilizations have access to that kind of technology, they could have put the implant in from a fourth or fifth dimension without even cutting through Sasha's gear. It's a fascinating notion, but there is no proof. People have asked me now that I've been given permission to share this story, and Sasha sat on it for about five years. Just last year he said, Joe, you can start talking about this. (0:39:31)
It's okay. And because several months later, Sasha reported to me that he had a close encounter, several extraterrestrial beings, you know, the little gray guys, came to his house in a very cordial encounter at his home, allegedly apologized and removed the foreign body. I repeated the x-rays, they were gone. The foreign body was gone. Now, does this prove that I was witness to an extraterrestrial implant? (0:39:55)
Absolutely not. Sasha, my friend, my co-worker, I was best man at his wedding, although he's much younger than me. I do speak Russian, and we had a lot to share, as you might imagine. It's presumably possible he's an sociopath, and he made up this story that he suddenly had pain in his leg, and maybe there was a foreign body there all the time that he knew about and staged it. (0:40:23)
And maybe when I repeated the x-ray, he convinced the x-ray tech to reverse the markers on the x-ray, so that he was now photographing the left leg, which was marked right. And the foreign body was always there, it's still there, and he's tricked Dr. Burks into thinking a foreign body, an alien implant was there. (0:40:47)
It's possible, I have no proof. But I tend to think that knowing Sasha, and knowing the fact that he kept silent about it for so long, I think that's not likely. What's the good of a hoax if you just share it with one person? In any case, that's my alien implant story. (0:41:01)
And later on during the break, or afterwards, I'll pass around the x-ray that does show the implant, or alleged implant. And so this gives you a feel of what it's like to work within the contact underground. People have asked me, aren't you frightened of the craft? Don't you fear you're going to be abducted? The answer to that comes from the cumulative experience of countless numbers of contactees and organizations. (0:41:34)
And we go out promoting peaceful contact. Some new age theorists, it says like attracts like. If you go out there with fear, perhaps you attract those extraterrestrial groups that feed on fear. In any case, all our experiences have been positive, not just in the CICETI organization, but in Mission Rama, the network of Peruvian contactees that predates CICETI by some 20 years, established in 1974, based around the contact experiences of a young college student by the name of Sixto Paz-Wells in Lima, Peru. If you read the many books, unfortunately not translated into English yet, written by this amazing network of contactees who were known back then as Mission Rama and had influence on Shirley MacLaine when she wrote the book, I think, Out on the Limb, that their experiences, including on-board experiences with multiple witnesses in full psychomotor control of their bodies, all their encounters have been positive. Now that's not to say that the abductees, people having negative experiences, are lying. It just says that this phenomena is multifaceted. Some people having positive experiences, some people having negative experiences. As Whitley Streber has reported from receiving hundreds of thousands of letters of people all over the world who have written him, the vast majority of people don't know what to make of their experience. It's not positive or negative, it's just weird. And as Streber has written, the only thing consistent about this phenomena is that it's consistently strange. So what I'd like to do now is go to the next video. This story is the encounters of film crew that had a program from 94 to 96. It was a sort of sightings-like program. And they wanted to do a shoot. (0:43:38)
Dr. Greer consented. Sasha and I and the Los Angeles Working Group of CSETI investigators got to be part of the scene. It's kind of funny because they shot it like a Hollywood movie with a 60-foot boom and a pre-prepared script. And they had actually written the end of the story first. (0:44:02)
And the announcer had given a little talk that we had not had an encounter only halfway into. And they were filmed her doing the end of the show. The extraterrestrials apparently, or the whatevers as my wife calls them, didn't read the script because we did have a sighting. (0:44:20)
And they had to run quickly, the film crew, to change the end of this video that you're going to see. What's interesting for me about this encounter is that I had a precognitive image of the sighting prior to it occurring, having occurred. And this is something that CSETI training and Mission Rama and other contactee groups train the researchers to do. (0:44:40)
And that is to meditate and be open for precognitive messages about the sightings that are to occur. For the Rama group from Peru, they use psychographics or automatic writing. CSETI and other contactee groups use visualization, thought projection, and for want of a better word, telepathic override. (0:45:00)
In any case, I was sitting there waiting for the film crew to get together. And they had catered it with some very good pizza. So there I am. And you'll see the location, Topanga State Park. And I had this image of the western horizon of the park. The time was 9 o'clock in my mind's eye, although this was two hours in advance. (0:45:27)
And I said, I saw three UFOs, one after another, little disks going up and down in my mind's eye at 9 o'clock. Well, as you will see, there wasn't quite three UFOs, but it was an anomalous nocturnal light that was inexplicable and not a flying saucer as I had seen in my mind's eye. So that is a kind of introduction to the second video. Let's go to the encounter's footage. (0:45:53)
Okay, why don't you go ahead and make a circle and cross onto me. Do you see him? Yes, I do. It's right in the dark. Right in there. Can you see me here? You can see me singling out. You know, like... Yeah, we'll be seeing. Okay. Anyway, you did see the movement of the object suddenly to the side. (0:46:55)
That was not camera motion. There it goes again. That's amazing. I can't see from here, but I see them there. Right, because it's magnification. No, that's it. Let's stop this video here. Yes, right where it's queued up, just where the other object is. Have you ever wondered what you would do if you saw a UFO? Would you have the presence of mind observed closely, or would you take off in the opposite direction? Well, the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence knows what they would do. Their model could be taken from the Boy Scouts. Be prepared. In the 1950s, visitors from outer space had a straightforward agenda. Mass destruction, planetary enslavement, and the equal opportunity employment of nasty jet planes. But yesterday's bug-eyed monsters are today's extraterrestrials. And my witnesses believe that the day of alien contact is drawing near, if it already hasn't occurred. I'm convinced that there's a small faction within our government that has been grappling for nearly 50 years with the problem of eventual disclosures of alien contact on this planet. (0:48:51)
I think they've been in possession of information that has convinced them that aliens or non-human intelligence has reached this planet quite some time ago. Dr. Stephen Greer isn't waiting for the government to issue him an extraterrestrial passport. He is the head of the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence, or CSETI. This organization is getting ready for an event they feel is inevitable. (0:49:20)
The day we first made contact. Preparing people for this kind of contact, the human dimension is the most difficult one. We were in England in 1992, and we were able to vector one of these objects. It was a large 150-foot-diameter disk with a, you know, dome or cupola on top. You know, God is my witness, this is an extraordinary event. (0:49:46)
But when you've locked on, you know, you have signal to it, the signal back, it's changed course and it's coming in towards you. This is when you realize that, my God, they see us and they're coming. Dr. Greer founded CSETI in 1990. Over the years, they have refined their stated mission. Trying to establish contact with the life-forms on board these objects. (0:50:12)
And this is very important. CSETI really isn't interested in the UFOs. We're interested in the occupants or the intelligence or the beings behind the UFOs. All of CSETI's efforts have one ultimate intention. (0:50:22)
Try to get one to land, and eventually, they'll possibly get a boarding party on board one of these objects. Encounters asked CSETI if they would take us on one of their UFO expeditions, and they agreed. Before we left, we met with their team of human ambassadors. We're all excited. Just be careful, John. Caroline O'Catherine is excited. She believes there is a chance she will make direct contact with extraterrestrials, but she plans on taking things one step at a time. (0:51:05)
The game plan is, should there be a sighting and should we be locked on in such a way that the ETI would choose to land and make contact with us, we would be ready to do so. She has learned to put her fears aside and approach contact with an open mind. Whatever you fear or revere, be direct to you. So I don't want to come from fear. Come, be peaceful. We will attract peaceful entities. And what's exciting about CSETI to me is this repeated philosophy of non-hostility, of being diplomats for peace, of being a liaison with human kind and extraterrestrial intelligence. Am I emotionally prepared to go on board a UFO? I don't know. I like to think that I am. But then again, I know, because of the people I've talked to, that seeing a UFO is not always fun. It's scary. And for so long I thought that UFOs weren't real. I thought they were figments of people's imaginations. (0:52:26)
A few years suddenly reversed my opinions, caused a literal breakdown in my whole system of beliefs. And it was not, it wasn't fun. I eventually had to face the fact that UFOs were here. Nobody really knows why these extraterrestrials are here. However, there's not a scintilla of evidence, not a scintilla of evidence, that their net motives for being here are hostile, are oriented towards harming life on this planet. (0:52:59)
We are now, I think, in the process of looking at the world differently, we're beginning to see everything interconnected. And that's not just on this Earth, it's the whole universe. Think that he wants the government to release all information about alien encounters. The idea behind Project Starlight is to brief leaders in society and to encourage them to try to bring out the definitive evidence, which we believe exists, and to finally confirm the fact that we have detected extraterrestrial life forms. I think they're coming from a mentality that arose in the mid-40s, when we actually believed we were being invaded from space. We couldn't handle the technology we were seeing. The government would try to keep this secret until they could understand the nature of their challenge. And today we have 50 years of momentum that's very hard to break. (0:53:57)
What we do not have is anyone in an important position in government saying the US government has this knowledge and we're officially declaring an interest in this and want to share this with the public. Some of those are urging the Clinton administration to renew that policy. (0:54:12)

The 945, we had an object about 5 degrees above the ridge in the west that was probably out in the Pacific Ocean. It was stationary and it was sending out the primary colors that had just been sent out by the laser. We've got a commercial jet pilot with us and this is very unusual. Where is that? It happens unfortunately every time we go out and we are doing the right stuff. For instance, did we have a close encounter today? I think we may have. Now, this sort of thing has happened before. Of course, we prefer to come unnoticed. Once we are up close and on the top of the ship, not a good impression. But nonetheless, it's exciting. (0:57:51)

I'd like to share with you an overall perspective on this problem. Extraterrestrial spacecraft visiting the planet. Because I promised you not only storytelling in the card that you received, but also hard-hitting political analysis. So let me talk about what I view as the fundamental challenge to ufology. And this is something that most researchers do not directly address at their peril. Because it is my firm belief that the extraterrestrial presence, or this otherness that we call ET, whether it be ultimately interdimensional or extraterrestrial, it's non-human intelligence for sure, challenges all terrestrial power on this planet. If you understand that basic truth, then the worldwide secrecy campaign, the ridicule of witnesses, the lack of funding at major universities for research, etc., etc., all make sense. So let's talk about how this otherness that we call ET challenges terrestrial power. That includes the corporate, the military, political, and religious leaders of our planet. Currently, as you saw from the video, and as you're aware from the talk that's been given by Daniel Sheehan two months ago, there are efforts to attempt to carry out a people's disclosure. (1:00:32)
Greer and his C-SETI group were not successful in convincing the Congress to open hearings on this subject. And so what is now being attempted is a people's disclosure where top-level witnesses will give testimony without congressional immunity for secrecy oaths signed. But it's my firm belief that the UFOs challenge all political power on this planet, because if you think about it, what is the situation on this planet? (1:01:06)
There's over 150 nations, each with their own flag and currency, and the political leaders derive their power from one planet. We will start looking at ourselves as one people with one homeland. Astronauts, when they're out into space, look down, they see no borders, no frontiers. And so the notion of one planet, one people, which is already happening because of the internet and global trade and English becoming the primary language of the planet, will accelerate what's in it for the politicians. (1:01:52)
If we eventually form a planetary government, hopefully based on justice, they'll be out of a job. Every national leader will have to acknowledge that he or she is only a very small part of the puzzle. And just like the nation-states of Genoa, the city-states, I should say, of Genoa and Naples and other city-states in Rome and Italy had to band together as one nation, I suspect the national leaders will have to acknowledge that as one planet, one people, nations will become a thing of the past. And the military is also threatened by the extraterrestrial presence, and this is a driving force behind the secrecy campaign. (1:02:37)
They would have to acknowledge that despite trillions of dollars invested in technology, military technology, these craft, which appear to defy the laws of physics as we know them, can fly circles around top military aircraft. And that military leaders are really impotent in the face of an extraterrestrial presence. They are unable, the military people, to secure our skies from intrusion, which is their stated goal. (1:03:06)
And so instead of acknowledging this, they silence witnesses and continue the cover-up. Multinational corporations would also be severely threatened. The energy cartels that produce oil, which of course allows us to live in this wonderful city of many freeways, but also contributes to the global warming problem. If, over a period of time, relations were established with extraterrestrial visitors, and we were able to download some of their advanced technologies, which has been rumored to be zero-point or free energy, there would be no need to have oil. (1:03:47)
The most powerful multinational corporations in the world have only to lose by a disclosure campaign and an acknowledgment of extraterrestrial visitations and peaceful relations and the downloading of technology. This has important geopolitical concerns because we recently fought a war, the Gulf War, where oil was a major issue. And of course, the spiritual elites are also threatened by this otherness that we call E.T. It is likely that this UFO phenomenon is not recent, but is an ancient one. (1:04:27)
Frescoes from medieval periods showing men in flying machines and stained-glass windows with UFOs from the Renaissance period all attest to this likely being something that's been going on for centuries, if not millennia. What if the myths of ancient civilizations that describe their knowledge of writing and of astronomy coming from star people are not simple myths, but true, that these visitors have been here and shared some of their knowledge in limited ways? (1:05:00)
And what if the holy men, the saints of Moses, of Muhammad, and Jesus are the experiences of contactees? Even if this is not true, just the notion that it might be true would have a tremendous impact on our belief system, would undermine faith, and might cause chaos. New religions might be formed. And so from this point of view, you can see how the spiritual elite, the religious leaders, would have reasons not to want this acknowledgement to come forward, to acknowledge the E.T. presence. (1:05:36)
And so given this analysis, the worldwide secrecy campaign is not an aberration. It is the logical consequence of the status quo attempting to maintain itself in the face of continuous pressure by a phenomenon that they, despite their nuclear weapons, and their control of the media, and their vast resources, the elites of the planet cannot control. I remember my son once gave me a T-shirt, and it said, Space commies from Mars. And if you think about it, we've just ended the Cold War, and the United States and the Western powers have spent untold wealth, and so have the Soviets, in this Cold War, in a dance of death where tens of thousands of nuclear weapons have been created to threaten one another. (1:06:33)
You can imagine the fear that would be struck in the elites of the world if something more threatening than fascism, or threatening than communism, came on the scene to challenge their power. (1:06:44)
Nevertheless, I think we have to be optimistic, and we have to look at the course of human history in terms of both evolutionary and revolutionary trends. After all, Christianity, which came out of Judaism, was a tremendous revolutionary force for good. A monotheistic worldview, which supplanted the pantheon of gods of the ancients. One god, one supreme ruler, was an advance that allowed us to create systems of law based upon human rights that came from an almighty being. (1:07:23)
And evolution and revolution have contributed to the advancement of human development. In a similar fashion, social justice has been promoted by political revolution from the 17th and 18th centuries, when democracies were established across Europe. And even today, the political struggle for democracy goes on in the third world. But the tendency is for more freedom, more openness. And so what we can see by looking at history is that although old regimes, whether they be the monarchs of Europe or the Romans, who had to give in to Christianity, although they may not give in without a fight, history is on the side of development, of enlightenment. (1:08:08)
And it is my hope that the acknowledgement of the extraterrestrial presence will issue forth a new age in human development on this planet. And so what we are seeing now happening, right before us, is a movement of citizens, not only in the United States but in other places, calling for disclosure. And although there may not ever be a landing on the White House, as shown by these dramatizations, there will come a time, as more and more people have sightings, as the tempo of contact experiences accelerate, there will come a time when close to a majority, if not that hasn't arrived already, a majority of the people will acknowledge the extraterrestrial presence. (1:08:50)
Eventually it will get like the emperor's new clothes, where the leaders and the debunkers will be telling millions of people that the structured craft that they see flying over their cities, and apparently are having no effects on us, are swamp gas and hallucinations, and the people will be laughing at the leaders as impotent and as foolish as they sometimes appear today. So with this analysis, I'd like to then move on to the burning issue of war and peace. (1:09:25)
Because through my work in the C-SETI organization, and even on an intuitive basis before I joined that group, in fact the first thing that crossed my mind in 1992 when I met Dr. Greer, was as the Cold War was ending, and as a former peace activist, what a wonderful issue this could be for those forces within our society to promote conflict, and a new arms race of space-based weapons based on not the evil Red Menace or commies from Mars, as the joke goes, but as extraterrestrials who would need to be challenged. (1:10:04)
And so that was one of the reasons I was attracted to Greer's group, because it was a positive message, and I saw within C-SETI the nucleus of what could be a worldwide movement not only calling for disclosure, but calling for peace and solidarity and cooperation, and to end and prevent an arms race that would spend untold trillions on developing weapons that could never be used. (1:10:34)
Remember, we're living in a planet where some 10 million children die every year of preventable disease and starvation, where in the third world the governments spend more on weapons than they do on health and education. (1:10:48)
And in a country like ours that's so rich and spends so much on health care, and yet 40 million Americans, people living in this country, do not have health insurance and live with the insecurity. And where there's global warming and environmental pollution and problems that seem to be insurmountable. And so a movement for peace and cooperation holds the promise of rather than spending trillions on space-based weapons that we can never use, against an enemy we will never fight, to divert those resources to meet human needs. (1:11:27)
But that's not the way things are going right now. Because according to many insiders, some of whom I was able to meet while part of the Sea City organization, it appears as if the UFO situation is outside of the hands of the legitimate government. Whether you call them the black budget boys and girls, or the controllers. It became clear to Greer after meeting with Woolsey in 1993, in December, that even the former director of the intelligence system, the former director of the National Reconnaissance Program that downloaded the images from surveillance satellites, even the head of the CIA was not in the know. (1:12:25)
And so it's clear that those forces that are controlling the cover-up are likely beyond the reach of even our elected officials, including the President of the United States. How is this possible? It's possible because multinational corporations can hide behind product secrecy, and they can recruit intelligence operatives into cut-out type of clandestine organizations that operate under what's called USAPs, unacknowledged special access programs, where military officers who are recruited into these programs believe they are authorized on the basis of national security to lie to their commanders. (1:13:14)
When asked, is there a cover-up program on UFOs, they believe and presumably do lie to their commanders. You know there is no such program. And so what Greer has been able to do is assemble a number of witnesses, and he's been able to characterize the opposition in terms of the black budget operation. In 1994, in a Sea City newsletter, he described some of the characteristics of what he found out about the control groups, and that they're multinational, that they're quasi-governmental, quasi-private, extraordinarily secret, and able to take from both the private sector as well as the military and intelligence community for their operatives. (1:13:58)
And if his hypothesis is true, as I believe it is, the President of the United States and the Cabinet, perhaps even the Joint Chiefs of Staff, may not be able to disclose anything on this subject because they probably don't have any access to real information. So if you go to the Sea City website, he has written a number of important position papers describing the attempts at disclosure and some of the difficulties he and others are finding in trying to bring this forward. (1:14:30)
The war peace issue is important because there's evidence to indicate that a shooting war is already going on. In Whitley Streber's book, Confirmation, published in 1998, he gives a detailed analysis of an important piece of video footage. (1:14:49)
Many of you have seen it, I'm sure. It's the STS footage from 1991, the space shuttle Discovery, STS-48. And in this footage, you see what appears to be an extraterrestrial spacecraft maneuvering above the air envelope of the Earth's atmosphere. And after a flash of light, what looks like some kind of projectile weapon firing up from the Earth's surface towards these objects that then move in advance to avoid being hit. (1:15:25)
In Confirmation, Streber offers the analysis by Dr. Jack Kasher and imaging specialist Dr. Mark Collado. And from their analysis, the prosaic explanations offered by NASA that these images are simply from ice crystals, these prosaic explanations are just not credible. But there's other evidence as well to indicate that a shooting war is going on. It comes from Philip Corso. How many people have heard of the Day After Roswell or have read the book? (1:16:01)
Majority, for sure. In this book, Corso, who claims to have been head of the Army Research and Development Division's Foreign Technology Desk, describes not only passing out high-tech material of an extraterrestrial nature to U.S. industry for reverse engineering, but also describes in very bellicose terms the shooting war that, in his opinion, is already going on. In that book, he writes, quote, These creatures weren't benevolent alien beings who had come to enlighten human beings. (1:16:38)
As long as we were incapable of defending ourselves, we had to allow them to intrude as they wished. We hid the truth, and the extraterrestrial biological entities used it against us until 1974, when we had our first real shoot-down of an alien craft over Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. Now, it's true that it's impossible to verify the particulars of Corso's account. He does not offer the names of any of the dozens of witnesses that could corroborate his story, who received the technology, who may have been involved in those shoot-downs. Philip Corso, after playing an important role in revealing secret government projects, died on July 16, 1998 at the age of 83 from a heart attack. (1:17:34)
Although I acknowledge Philip Corso's contributions to revealing that we are being visited, as a peace activist, I find many of his bellicose views chilling. I believe it's a mistake, at this point, when we know so little about the extraterrestrials, or this otherness that we call E.T., to assume hostility and to engage in a shooting war. I suspect that some of those very same corporations that would benefit from war are active within those cells of former military and intelligence operators who are willing to come forward. (1:18:19)
And what I mean by this is that, in the absence of a peace movement calling for the kinds of things that CICETI and Mission Rama have called for, in the absence of a people's movement, disclosure that is unprepared for could very well lead to a stampede of building space-based weapons and spending untold trillions on weapons. The slogan that we must negotiate from a position of strength, I imagine, would be used even among those sectors of the establishment that would be willing to say that we have not yet been harmed by the extraterrestrials. (1:19:01)
But negotiating from a position of strength might mean hundreds of billions of dollars thrown down a rat hole to build weapons that cannot be used because these civilizations are likely so advanced that our attempts to attack them would not lead in its success. (1:19:21)
And from a logical point of view, we have to say that if this phenomenon has been going on for centuries, how can we ascribe to the extraterrestrials' intent to harm us in any major way? After all, as Greer has pointed out in his numerous public lectures, why wait for us, if they've been here for centuries, for us to develop nuclear weapons and rockets? (1:19:44)
And wouldn't it have been better if they were intending to take over to, say, take on flintlocks 300 years ago or bows and arrows thousands of years ago? It is likely that civilizations not only develop technologically as we have, but also for survival must develop ethically and spiritually in order to not self-destruct from the technological nemesis that their science creates. In other words, a civilization that can gain access to the kind of energy systems that can allow them to move across stars, between the stars, that enormous sea of space, unless they developed ethically to cooperate and live in peace, would likely self-destruct before they got very far out in the universe. (1:20:31)
So one can presume that ethical development, peaceful cooperation, is very likely possible, if not probable, with extraterrestrial visitors. During the peace movement in the 1980s, we had a slogan. As you know, I was in Physicians for Social Responsibility. I still am on the local board. I still carry out educational campaigns about the dangers of the arms race, need for gun control, and cleaning up the environment, which is our physician's program. (1:21:07)
We used to say, when the people lead, the leaders will follow. And this issue is really too important to leave to the black-budget boys and girls, to the few military industrialists who are allowed to be on the know, or to select sections of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. People on this planet need to know that we're being visited, and hopefully the message will be put forward in a peaceful and hopeful way, as I believe the contactee groups, with all the high strangeness and all the weirdness that's associated with this phenomenon that makes skeptics doubt the reality of visitations. (1:21:46)
Nevertheless, putting it forward in a positive light will give hope, especially to the next generation. Because what's encouraging about this situation is that the young people are very enthusiastic about extraterrestrial visitations. My son, who's an aspiring rock star, going to junior college, but I think his real major is rock and roll 101, he and his friends do what they call moon dancing, where they get generators and they go out in the desert, and they dance with their rock and roll music, and have the expectation that extraterrestrial spacecraft will show up, and guess what? On occasion they do. (1:22:28)
And my son has friends, several who have video evidence to prove that what they saw was not some drug hallucination. So I think the next generation is with it. They are encouraged by the information that's being put forward by responsible groups like MUFON, and it's only a matter of time before the emperor's new clothes will be revealed, and our society will acknowledge extraterrestrial visitations. (1:22:56)
I can tell you that from the point of view of one who has worked within the contact movement, what I call the contactee underground, because let's face it, this is not safe. (1:23:09)
The level of ridicule and denial is so strong that many people are concerned about sharing their interest in this field with their co-workers or with family and friends. Nevertheless, a hopeful view is that extraterrestrials are neither Jesus Christ in a spaceship, here to save us, or Darth Vader, here to hurt us. The promise of the extraterrestrial visitations is that they can give us an example of what likely we can accomplish in the future. (1:23:44)
If these civilizations have passed through the dark times of their history, like our times, where technocratic barbarism or savagery seems to be the rule, and weapons of mass destruction are made and used on tens or hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women, and children, that if an advanced civilization can go through those dark times of pollution and get out into the stars and make their presence known to others as we are now experiencing that phenomena, then the promise is we can do it, too. (1:24:21)
During the peace movement, we used to carry out an educational exercise through Physicians for Social Responsibility called the Bombing Run, in which physicians would get up before an audience. I was a speaker's trainer for our local chapter, and we would train physicians to describe in detail what a one-megaton bomb would do to a city like Los Angeles, a one-megaton nuclear bomb would do to Washington or London. And this, I guess you'd call it a canned talk, was given all over the world, in Moscow as well as Leningrad and London, where physicians would describe the pattern of destruction that could transpire with just one nuclear bomb going off. (1:25:09)
And it was a devastating presentation. The joke on some bumper sticker was, one nuclear bomb could ruin your whole day. And we would have grown men listening to our presentation where we would describe the crush injuries that could not be taken care of because all ICUs would be destroyed, the third-degree burns from the firestorm, children dying from radiation. This is all what happened in Hiroshima. And if these weapons are used again, you can multiply that horror by a thousand or a million times. (1:25:44)
And we would describe this pattern of destruction with the message that this issue, world peace, ending the arms race, was too important to leave to the generals and to the politicians because in those days, as today, we are all on the front line. So, in a similar fashion, I commend all of you for being here, for wanting to learn about this, and to share that information with others. (1:26:10)
In 1993, because I speak Spanish and because I was one of Greer's lieutenants, I had a chance to go to Mexico. And we, in 1993, February of that year, were successful in attracting to the research site outside of Popocatepetl Volcano, about 100 miles outside of Mexico City, a large triangular-shaped craft that, in response to our thought projections and our signaling, came out from the volcano and swung in a large circle. (1:26:41)
It was the size of a city block. (1:26:42)
It was totally silent, triangular in shape, and it was accompanied by a scout craft. For me, that was a transformative experience. Although I had seen anomalous objects in the past through my sea study work, I'd never seen anything that big, that powerful, and that close. And as it approached us, the scout ship that we had learned from previous encounters would sometimes take a security position, shot up, way up into the sky, and presumably was hovering overhead. As the mothership, about the size of a city block, maybe 200 or 300 feet across, came towards us. We signaled, it signaled back. The front lights, the back lights, it was under intelligent control, it was not a hallucination. Alas, our video cameras went out, as did our single lens reflex, and even the cheap 110 sort of click-click cameras. None of our equipment worked, indicating the possibility that something or someone did not want us to have that quality documentation on a craft that close, a quarter of a mile away. (1:27:48)
But when I went through that experience, the one thing I remember most was yes. The word yes. My deepest fear during my student and then subsequent physician activist days was that a nuclear war would occur, that humanity would be wiped out, that my children would die, and that everyone I knew would suffer a terrible death. And worse than that, however, was the notion of Omnicide, wiping out not only all human life on this planet, but the fear that enough radiation, enough firestorm, could end this planet as a place for not only intelligent life, but all life. (1:28:29)
Omnicide, genocide made large, the killing of a planet. And in those days we used to ask, if these plans, war plans, are being made to use such weapons of mass destruction, what does that say about our responsibility to one another and to a supreme being? If this is the only nidus of intelligent life in the universe, as I believed back in my activist days in the 80s, what would that say, then, if we planned to destroy the only planet where there was intelligent life? (1:29:06)
What would it say about our feelings about the Almighty God, a supreme being? That we would threaten the greatest creation because of our fear, our hatred. And if we destroyed ourselves, then there would be no memory of us as a civilization. If we were alone in the universe. And when I saw that craft in Mexico, I said yes, because I had this tremendous sense of relief that even if things don't work out, and we are unsuccessful in passing through those dark times that perhaps advanced civilizations have, we destroy this planet, we will be remembered. (1:29:45)
Because worse than omnicide is obliteration, annihilation. At least there will be some E.T. children somewhere out there in space who will be notified by their parents that there was this late great planet Earth and they were not successful in controlling their warlike ways. (1:30:03)
So, that was a transformative experience for me. I'll never forget it. Several days later I saw my first metallic disc going right into a cloud on the side of the volcano. The Mexican peasants there, of course, knew what we were there for because we didn't look like them, we were gringos, we had all the equipment, and they'd all seen UFOs. In fact, everyone in the village that we had stayed in either had seen one or had a close family member. (1:30:31)
So, the word's getting out. Now, in the few minutes that remain, I'd like to talk to you about another contacting network because I promised to mention a few words about Rama. And Seasatty, although sometimes Stephen Greer appears to want to say that his group is the only one of its kind that's doing this work, it's my perspective, and I told him this, was that it's not true, that in 1974, Sixto Paz-Wells, a university student in Lima, Peru, got involved with meditation and yoga and his father sponsored a conference where the possibilities of extraterrestrial telepathic communication was discussed. And I learned of Rama through journal articles as well as traveling to San Francisco where one of their cadre, a retired dental surgeon who I recall, Dr. Ricardo, who was originally from Peru, was there in the San Francisco Bay Area leading groups of contactees out into a secure location in Mount Shasta where they would, in similar fashion to Seasatty, draw on the craft, have limited interactions, peaceful, and several of our Seasatty people have gone up with them in the local working group to Mount Shasta with Dr. Ricardo's group to verify the presence and interactions of these contactees with anomalous structured craft. And Sixto Paz-Wells, in 1974, after attending one of these conferences, decided he would try a technique of automatic writing. And on January 22, 1974, with his mother and sister in attendance, he felt a tremendous desire to write. First it was scribbling, and then later, without his apparent control, a message was issued, and the message was that he was channeling the writing of an extraterrestrial being named Oxal, presumably from, and this sounds kind of foolish, I guess, it's pretty far out, but from the planet Moreland. To them, Moreland, actually it's a moon of Jupiter known to us as Ganymede. Well, while he's writing this, he's also receiving telepathically an image of an older man holding his hands on his temples. (1:33:09)
Well, you can imagine how Sixto felt afterwards, sort of surprised, confounded, embarrassed. The next day, his mother and his sister arranged a larger meeting. And Sixto was again encouraged, with a lot of doubt, because he wasn't sure what was going on, to carry out his meditation and then establish contact again. And sure enough, it happened. His hands started writing out messages from a presumed extraterrestrial. (1:33:38)
One skeptic in the group asked, if this intelligence is so wise, could Oxal tell the group the name of the book that she was reading? (1:33:52)
Not only did the intelligence as channeled by Sixto's Pasuales describe the book, but also gave the page a number where this woman was reading at the time and gave her opinion of the book itself, which she confirmed was true. So this intelligence allowed a number of tests, all of which it passed. And they set up a meeting to prove the physical nature of non-human intelligence as channeled by Sixto Pasuales. And so on February 7th, 1974, and they were given detailed instructions as to where to go, just as my friend Sasha, in a sense, was given instructions where to go through telepathic means or consciousness-mediated communication means. They went to a place in the desert outside of Lima, Peru, in the Chicla, Chilca, I should say, district. And to their surprise, at 9 p.m., they saw an object illuminating a nearby mountainside. The object then turned on a powerful light on them and moved to hover overhead. It was a hamburger or saucer-shaped craft some 80 feet above them. It hovered for 15 minutes, and for those people who are interested, I have a detailed chronology of this encounter from the UFO Library magazine. (1:35:22)
I have a limited number of copies for people who are interested in reading more about Rama. But this limited encounter lasted 15 minutes. The young people were, as you might imagine, not prepared for this. Several of them panicked and Sixto got the message that they needed to work on their meditation techniques, and another encounter would be scheduled when they were more prepared. So you see the similarities between Mission Rama, Siseti, and a host of other groups, some of which we are not even probably aware of, but are operating quietly behind the scenes, setting the stage for moving to that next phase of human development, interplanetary contact. These intelligences appear to work with young people. Greer has had contact experiences as my friend Sasha and many other contactees since childhood. And they are encouraged to not just hide their experiences, but to go out and share them and to organize contact teams, and that's what the contact movement is about, in my opinion. Following this, Sixto and his supporters staged another encounter, although they were given explicit instructions not to bring others into the process. (1:36:37)
Sixto brought his father in, who was, I think, an academic at the local Catholic university and a self-styled expert in the affairs of extraterrestrial intelligence. And so they allowed not only Sixto and his young friends, but his father and, to their surprise, a group of large group of people who accompanied them to their research site. They weren't prepared for it. Again, 150 meter crafts appeared in the sky. (1:37:08)
There was a kind of party. To Sixto's dismay, some of his father's friends brought beer and there was partying going on. Others were attempting to make contact by holding hands and using a transmedium approach. It was a mess. It was sort of like a carnival-like atmosphere. When the UFO showed up, people who had not been properly trained prepared for contact panicked again, knocking over chairs and charging into tents and jumping into their cars to hide, this sort of thing, which has happened in Seasteady's experience too when people were not adequately prepared. Rather than blame the extraterrestrials, Sixto and his team looked to themselves. They realized that the probability of disaster always occurs when you try to impose on the extraterrestrials your notions of the way contact should unfold. (1:38:01)
They had been told to not bring others. They violated those instructions. Chaos ensued. Following this, the group of young people continued their meditation. A third meeting was arranged in July of 1974 in a place called La Mina, or the mine. And this location was about 20 minutes away from the jumping-off point where they had to park their vehicles and walk across the desert. (1:38:34)
During this encounter, as described in this article and as confirmed by my colleague who I will call Dr. Ricardo, the dental surgeon from Mission Rama in the Bay Area who confirms this chronology, Sixto Paz-Wells was separated from his group and suddenly saw what he thought initially was a lantern that his friends were carrying but turned out to be none other than an extraterrestrial being who frightened Sixto and at the same time paralyzed him. (1:39:07)
Telepathically, he reportedly received a simple command, come. And overcoming his fear, he stepped into this bright light experienced a wave of vertigo and nausea and suddenly found himself engulfed in light and he was now transported to a different place away from La Mina. The extraterrestrial Oxalp who was described as some 6 feet 2 inches tall with oriental features and whitish blonde thin hair that flowed down to his broad shoulders described the mechanism as, according to this account the dimensional portal carried Sixto by breaking down his atomic structure that was converted to light energy and thereby could be transported rapidly over distances. Sounds like Star Trek in Beamey Up or Down, Scotty. Following this, Sixto spent some time on this what was alleged to be Moreland or Ganymede. He was taken around the extraterrestrial base that consisted of a series of cities dome-like structures or eagle-like structures. He was given a chance to learn about where the people from this extraterrestrial base came from allegedly from the star systems of Betelgeuse and Rigel in the constellation Orion. And he was subsequently allowed to return to his friends who found him walking in the sand. (1:40:44)
What seemed like only 15 minutes had transpired for them. To Sixto he was uncertain as to how much time he had been with the extraterrestrials, but allegedly it was hours or days. In a follow-up encounter Sixto and another group of young people, I should say the whole group of young people were teleported or maybe you could say taken through the dimensional portal. (1:41:14)
They reported back in the numerous articles and books that have been written in Spanish, but surprisingly not translated yet into English. There were security reasons for that, I suspect. Sixto Paz-Wells did have trouble with the American government trying to enter the United States about 10 years ago. He was put on a plane and deported, sent back to Puerto Rico. He subsequently was given permission to enter the United States, but chose not to. (1:41:41)
And when he comes to this part of the world he goes to Tijuana and the Mission Rama representatives travel across the border to meet him, but he is not coming to the states again. (1:41:53)
He was held for six hours and then sent home on that unpleasant encounter that the State Department subsequently apologized about. In any case, during this final encounter as described in the article, these young people were teleported to a hall that was an enormous cupola-like structure where they met supposedly with 24 elders and were described telepathically the philosophical themes of the contact drama that is unfolding. The extraterrestrial concepts of God and death, all of which you can read about in the books when they are translated into English. And following this series of encounters in 1974, Mission Rama, which subsequently then changed its name to Mission Humanidad, Mission Humanity, established a network of contactees working in many continents. And when they make the claim that they have staged back in 1993, they made the claim 25,000 contacts with extraterrestrial intelligence. I believe that by this date it is far more than that. (1:43:12)
So they work quietly unlike Cicetti and other contactee groups that seek publicity. They are very quiet about their work, but they are working with people from all walks of life. Many of the people in their teams I suspect are undocumented. They have Peruvians, Mexicans. They operate in the former Soviet Union and Russia and Egypt. Wherever the Mission Rama teams are established, they facilitate these kinds of interactions that you saw portrayed on the video. (1:43:44)
Well, it's now approaching 10 o'clock and I promised to mention also one more contactee group. This is a small group of independents, Team Cavallari. I got involved as you might imagine. In my spare time I interview contactees and I'm always interested in learning about these networks. I traveled to meet with Team Cavallari. Alex Cavallari is a contactee in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. I was there to visit some friends and also to try to track down a contact from a network of Russian contactees. (1:44:28)
I wanted to verify certain information that Sasha had given me. I didn't reveal to anyone except my wife and to Sasha over the phone that I was trying to get, let's call him Mark, the Russian contactee, who happened to also live in Sheepshead Bay area of Brooklyn. I called Alex Cavallari, who is a contactee and works photographing orbs through what he describes as friendly reciprocal non-harmful encounters with non-human intelligence. (1:45:01)
His website is full of orbs which are alleged craft from a civilization he identifies as cybos. But I knew something was going on with Alex Cavallari because when I got on the phone with him, and I told no one except Sasha and my wife why I was going to Brooklyn, he says, oh Joe, I'm talking on the phone with Alex, you're important. (1:45:24)
I said, oh sure I am. He says, no, no Joe, listen, they're doing ear talk on me. The extraterrestrials are communicating with me telepathically. And I thought, oh boy, I got a live one. Nevertheless, he said to me something that got my attention. He says, you're here to see somebody. (1:45:39)
Who's Mark? Now I had told no one except my wife and Sasha I was going to try to find this Russian contactee. He said, Alex on the phone said, you're here to see Mark. Who is Mark? Well, that got my attention. So several weeks ago I followed the instructions of Alex Cavallari. I got a disposable camera. He told me to go up in the hospital parking lot at a certain time, where he actually said just take pictures of the sky at random. (1:46:11)
I emptied this disposable camera, just shooting at random clouds. When I got back from the developer, there were these anomalous objects that we had captured, including some sky writing. And if you check out Team Cavallari's website, hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll be reporting on that contact experience. And Alex is encouraging others to use the techniques that he's learned to get what appear to be bona fide photographs of extraterrestrial or interdimensional spacecraft. So I guess I've covered my assignment. (1:46:47)
I've told you about three groups of extraterrestrial contactee organizations. I've hopefully given you a hard hitting political analysis of what I see as the fundamental challenge to ufology. And I've given you some video evidence, as well as sight, sound and consciousness. Play the extraterrestrial sounds that we use when we do our contact work. This is from a UFO sighting in... actually this is from the crop circle region. (1:47:21)
And these are the kinds of tones that we play when we go into the field. Maybe in the questions and answer period. So I'm running out of time. I can tell you the story behind this sound that you're hearing that was recorded in a crop circle. And which CSETI uses during its contact protocols. So I'd like to stop my presentation right now.
