But here's the thing: Apparently Hangar 18 never existed. Well not per se, anyway, although according to Collins, there "was a series of buildings called 18 A, B, C, etc." He hypothesizes that items were brought to Hangar 23, "[which] sits between buildings 18F and 18A." The floor of Hangar 23 was removed "and the craft(s) were lowered into this newly dug-out basement," quickly covered by another concrete floor, and connected to the rest of the base through a set of largely unmapped and secret tunnels and elevators. Well, that was easy.
